As a CrossFitter, Nocco Drinks are my nectar. I don't drink coffee so my caffeine comes from energy drinks and having tried many, many energy drinks, this blog takes a look at Nocco drinks, which are becoming more and more popular around the world.
What are Nocco Drinks?
Nocco Drinks are carbonated, caffeinated and calorie free, pre workout drinks for athletes of any sport or those looking to have a boost of energy.
With 180mg of caffeine in each 330ml can, you certainly get your buzz for the morning or before your workout. Caffeine can help move muscles to burn fat more quickly, which preserves your glycogen stores and gives muscles more time before they wear out or fatigue. Perfect for almost every type of workout. This leads to a longer and less painful workout which everyone likes to hear. Some researchers also believe that caffeine may work directly on muscle by improving its efficiency in generating power.
As well as this, you can drink these guilt free, as they contain no calories whatsoever. Perfect if you're trying to cut down on your milky coffees or big cans of Monster or trying to reduce your calorie consumption.
With a huge range of flavours, Nocco from my point of view actually tastes pretty damn good (apart from the Orange flavour but we'll get to that later).
Why are Nocco Drinks so good?
I have been drinking energy drinks for workouts for a good few years now. I hate coffee or tea so energy drinks are my only source of caffeine.
Red bull soon got boring and was far too sugary. I tried out Tenzing, the natural energy drink which was okay but I needed slightly more caffeine than the 80mg they contained.
I then tried Moose Juice which tasted incredible (the Mojito flavour is wild) but they only had two flavours to choose from and again were only 250ml and had a lower caffeine content.
All over YouTube and Insta I have seen influencers raving on about Nocco, mainly Craig & Jas from Team Richey and Zack Georg, Fittest man in the UK, as they are sponsored by Nocco. But I hadn't really seen any honest Nocco drinks reviews from those who weren't sponsored by them. Luckily most decent CrossFit gyms around the UK stock them
I had tried Nocco every now and again just purely due to not being able to find it for a decent price in shops. Amazon to the rescue though. I was able to get the price down loads and now its my drink of choice for big workouts or long days.
Nocco drinks, I think, are one of the best tasting energy drinks and have a good amount of flavours. Apart from the now discontinued Orange flavour, which is positively gross.
The other killer flavours definitely make up for it. Tropical is my go to!
I drink Nocco drinks as a pre workout drink for the caffiene and also BCAAs. Although there is contradictory research around BCAAs, there is no harm in consuming more of them so I am happy with Nocco drinks as they are. I feel like the amount of caffeine is perfect for a pre-workout and it gives me that edge ahead of bigger workout days.
Nocco drinks are great for functional fitness, CrossFit, running and pretty much any sport that you need that extra boost of energy for. I can definitely see the difference if I don't have a Nocco, put it that way.
Although, objectively expensive, I don't drink coffee so I figure that I save money not buying hot drinks so for me it is not an expensive addition. That and they're some great deals online.
What are the different flavours of Nocco Drinks?
There are 7 flavours of the caffeinated drink (Called Nocco BCAA) available to purchase, each listed below with their actual flavours and my rating out of 5 ⭐️

Having drank all the different flavours and hearing other people's opinion, some think that some of the flavours are a bit sweet or powerful but they are good for me so I'd certainly try the flavours out before buying a crate or pack.
Are Nocco Drinks bad for you?
As with everything you consume there is too much of a good thing. However with Nocco drinks it is no more unhealthy than a coffee or another equivalent carbonated drink.
Nocco might actually be slightly healthier for you as there is no carbs and no calories. You may need to take caution with your caffeine consumption however, you usually have more potency of caffeine if you save your drinks for big workouts (you also save money too!).
Where to buy Nocco Drinks?
Luckily you may find Nocco in a few high street supermarkets like Sainsbury's or Morrisons but if you want to plan ahead your best option is to buy ahead.
Nocco drinks are available to buy from Amazon here in multipacks or mixed boxes.
