  • Required Equipment

    To thrive on this program, you’ll need full access to a well-equipped CrossFit or functional fitness gym.

    This means having all your core essentials like barbells with weight plates, dumbbells, and kettlebells readily available.

    You'll also need a pull-up bar or rig for your gymnastics and bodyweight skills, a plyo box for jumps, and various cardio machines such as a rower, bike erg, or ski erg (or similar equipment for your conditioning work).

    Don't forget your jump rope for double-unders and cardio. Crucially, ensure you have enough open space to move freely and safely during your workouts.

  • Your 8-Week Training Journey: What to Expect

    This functional fitness program is structured over a focused 8 weeks, with 6 dedicated training days and one active recovery or rest day each week to ensure optimal performance and recovery.

    Your workouts are strategically broken down into key components.

    You'll engage in Strength portions that cover major lifts crucial for functional fitness; remember to perform a proper warm-up and take ample rest, ideally around 3 minutes between sets, to maximize recovery and performance.

    Following this, the Accessories portions will introduce additional strength and skill elements designed to support your main lifts and improve your gymnastics. Similar to strength work, focus on quality and allow sufficient rest between sets unless the workout specifies otherwise.

    Finally, the Conditioning portion is your daily Workout of the Day (WOD). These workouts will range from running to lifting, with durations varying from short, intense blasts to longer efforts.

    Always warm up thoroughly for the individual movements involved, and be prepared to scale weights or movements as needed to maintain intensity and perfect form.

As a Level 2 Fitness Instructor and a functional fitness athlete for over 10 years, Harry deeply understands the grind, the plateaus, and the frustration of ineffective training. Having coached functional fitness classes for a number of years, he brings a unique, practical perspective, knowing exactly what functional athletes need to thrive in a real-world setting.
