XO Fitness is a state-of-the-art Hybrid training gym based within The Moors shopping complex in Ilkley and offers Hybrid Training, CrossFit, Sweat classes, personal and small group fitness training.
Opening on 2 January 2024, XO Fitness is owned by fitness industry professionals Chris Cummins and Harry Morse alongside an expert team of personal trainers.
XO Fitness offers a range of classes and small group fitness training focussed around CrossFit, Hyrox and functional fitness. The elite facility is jam packed full of top of the range equipment, racks, wall balls, boxes, machines and a sled too. Based in the centre of Ilkley, XO Fitness is a great option for those wanting to take their training to the next level.
XO Fitness is open 06:00 - 20:30 weekdays and 08:00 - 12:00 weekends.

Anytime Fitness Ilkley opened in 2018 to soaring member numbers, with brand new equipment including treadmills, cross-trainers, stair-steppers, rowers, spin bikes alongside strength resistance machines, a functional fitness area, kettlebells and dumbbells as well as a great squat rack the gym. The provide classes free for members and offer onboarding programs for free too. The biggest draw for members is the fact the gym is open 24 / 7 so great for late workouts or early risers.
The only catch is the memberships, as with Anytime Fitness gyms across the UK they try and lock you in for a lengthy contract. Memberships used to just be a 12 month contract but they have since released a 3 month and a 6 month contracts which are more expensive per month.
The equipment and members are great but it's very much a "put your headphones in and work out on your own" type of gym so if that's your thing then Anytime Fitness is for you. Even at peak times the gym is fairly quiet and you won't have to wait for equipment and the facilities like showers, toilets and member area are good.

Ilkley Tennis Club Gym

Best For: An Easy Workout
Ilkley Tennis Club has possibly the biggest gym and class spaces in Ilkley with a huge area for cardio machines including treadmills and bikes as well as a decent number of resistance machines and a few squat racks with a free weights area too. The equipment is fairly well kept but the main attraction is the class space. With a large area for a range of classes, Ilkley Tennis Club keeps a good few hundred Ilkley natives fit.
Being attached to the Tennis club has its benefits and the facilities are great. Memberships are fairly reasonable and keep on a rolling monthly contract. One big draw is not only their café but their sauna too, one of the only ones in Ilkley.
Their memberships can include full access to tennis and squash courts but if you just want the fitness centre it is still quite pricey. However they do offer Teen (14-17) access which other gyms do not.

Heavy Metal Gym

Best For: No Nonsense Muscle Building
The only dedicated powerlifting gym in Ilkley, Heavy Metal Gym is truly a chalk and sawdust type of gym. Bringing powerlifting and strength back to its roots, Heavy Metal boasts a range of strongman, powerlifting and essential conditioning equipment as well as providing a range of classes.
Situated in an office building just outside of the centre of Ilkley, Heavy Metal has specialised equipment but is one for those more serious about lifting.
The trainers at Heavy Metal are elite in their field and they even provide some martial art classes too.
