About the Authors
Aliza Sherman is the CEO of Ellementa which is a women's wellness network that offers online resources and helps connect women in cities across the US to learn more about cannabis with expert speakers and trusted product brands.
After initially hesitant of the use of cannabis, Sherman succumbed to stigma that cannabis was "dangerous and illegal" and it wasn't until when she was in her early 50's, when suffering with insomnia and chronic neck pain that she began to use cannabis as medicine. Excited by this she vowed to share the benefits of cannabis with other women across.
Dr. Junella Chin specializes in osteopathic manipulative medicine and is currently treating patients as an integrative cannabis physician in New York City.
As a teen, Chin was diagnosed with a debilitating spinal disease that caused years of chronic pain and tried a wide range of conventional therapies to help the pain. After suffering going through medical school, with long hours standing, one of her attending physicians noticed and offered marijuana in tincture form. Again, Chin had built up resistance through stigma but after a single weekend, she was able to do more, with less pain. After this experience, Chin was able to study cannabis and dedicated her career to help patients integrate medical cannabis safely into their lives.
